Building your WorkBase: a starting guide

5 things you need to know about WorkBase

So you've signed up to Syft WorkBase, now let's teach you how to use it. This guide will walk you through the initial steps of getting started on WorkBase, as quickly as possible. We'll show you how to:

  1. Navigate your way around WorkBase

  2. Set up your page elements, logos, color scheme and subdomain

  3. Fill need-to-know information about your business

  4. Preview your WorkBase

  5. Publish your WorkBase

Let's get started!

Builder

Once you've signed up to Syft WorkBase you will land on the WorkBase Builder. If not, click on "Setup" at the top right of the Syft WorkBase login page to navigate to Builder.

📓 Note

WorkBase has two elements to it: the Builder and the actual WorkBase page (your WorkBase). As a user, you can share, hyperlink and market your WorkBase to the world and you will use Builder to make changes or edits to that page.

Think of your WorkBase page as the advert and Builder as the document editor used to create the advert. No one can see the document editor but everyone can see the advert.

The first two tabs within the Builder side menu include everything you need to complete for the initial setup of your WorkBase:

  • "Setup and styling": From here you can click "View my WorkBase" to navigate to your WorkBase page. Select which elements you would like to include on your page, upload your business's logo and choose a color scheme for your page. Additionally, input a subdomain name for your page and view the analytics of your page here.

  • "Business details": From this tab you will be able to enter necessary information about your business such as the business name that will appear on your WorkBase page, registration details, a description for the top of your page as well as website and contact links.

Preview

From Builder you you will always have the option to look at a mock up of your page whilst making changes to see what those changes will look like. Click "Preview" at the top right of any page within Builder.

You will then have the option to preview what your page looks like on a desktop versus on a mobile device by clicking either "Desktop" or "Mobile", as shown in the image below.

From the preview page you can click through all the tabs within your WorkBase to view any changes made to a specific tab.

💡 Pro tip

All changes and edits made in Builder can be seen on Preview but these changes are not live. Your WorkBase will not reflect these changes until you decide to publish it.

Navigate back to Builder by clicking "Back to setup".

Publish

Click "Publish WorkBase" at the top right of any page within Builder or within Preview to deploy your changes to your WorkBase. Your WorkBase link is shown in the image below.

Tools to Explore

Now that you know the basics, there are tons of tools to explore to elevate your WorkBase. Here's a few to mention:

  • Documents: Upload documents to your WorkBase

  • Vendors: Highlight verified relationships with vendors

  • Testimonials: Display raving reviews about your business on your WorkBase

  • Achievements: Showcase achievements
